3 Arrested For Selling Synthetic Pot In Colorado
LOVELAND, Colo. (AP) - The Northern Colorado Drug Task Force says it has arrested the owner, manager and an employee of a Loveland smoke shop for selling synthetic marijuana.
The Denver Post reported Monday that detectives seized more than 700 grams of so-called spice packaged as Scooby Snax, Mr. Nice Guy, OMG and Mr. Happy valued at $5,400 from The Down Low shop. In a press release, the task force said the arrests and search last week followed a long-term investigation.
Anthony Cortese was arrested for unlawful possession of synthetic cannabinoids, and Bruce J. Lunder and Deven Pratt for unlawful distribution.
While real marijuana is legal in Colorado, dried plant material sprayed with synthetic cannabinoids is not. Synthetic marijuana has been linked to outbreaks of illness in Colorado and Georgia.
