200 Elementary School Children Receive New Bikes

WELD COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Two hundred elementary school students have brand new bikes thanks to the Wish For Wheels program.

Anadarko Petroleum teamed up with the Gilcrest school district to treat the kids in low income communities. The exciting deliveries happened Friday at Pete Mirich Elementary in Weld County.

"You could see this morning how excited they were, and a lot of these kids don't have bikes or access to bikes so it's a great thing for our community and these kids, really excited," said the school's principal Mike Andrews.

For many of the kids it's the first bike they've ever owned -- and just in time for summer.
