2 Violent Criminals On The Run After String Of Crimes

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)- The search is underway for two men wanted in a string of violent crimes in Colorado Springs.

Police said Hamilton Lee Sullivan and Jorge Luis Pilo Hernandez may be connected to the attempted murder of a woman last weekend.

The victim was found with a gunshot wound to the head at an intersection in Colorado Springs on Dec. 28.

Investigators said the men are also wanted for a string of home break-ins. They believe the pair may grow more violent.

"With a situation like this we always suspect that it's not the first time they hurt someone because it's so serious to shoot someone in the head. It's really important we get them into custody so nobody else can be harmed," said Colorado Springs Police spokeswoman Barbara Miller.

The vehicle used by the suspects was recovered about 2 p.m. in Douglas County but the suspects were nowhere to be found.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of either Sullivan or Hernandez is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
