2 Suspects In Golden Home Invasion, Stabbing Appear In Court
GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4)- Two suspects arrested in connection with a home invasion and stabbing appeared in court on Friday. Authorities continued to search for another suspect wanted in the crime.
Police say three intruders hit the wrong house on May 16, putting the whole family in danger, and escaped in a getaway car driven by a fourth suspect. Those suspects have been identified as Caleb Williams, Julia Johnson, Cody Aaron Jones and an unidentified 17-year-old.
Jesse Swift, a teacher at Bell Middle School, suffered serious stab wounds while fighting off the suspects. Jesse has been released from the hospital and continues to improve.
Williams was hospitalized with stab wounds suffered in the attack when Jesse fought back. Both he and the juvenile were arrested the same night.
Johnson is accused of driving the getaway car. She was arrested four days after the stabbing.
Williams and Johnson appeared in Jefferson County Court on Friday morning for the formal filing of charges. Williams has been charged with 30 counts that include second-degree attempted murder, first-degree burglary, assault, felony menacing and false imprisonment.
Johnson has been charged with accessory to burglary, accessory to robbery and accessory to menacing.
Both remain in custody at the Jeffco Jail.
The juvenile faces 21 charges including attempted first-degree murder, assault, burglary, menacing and false imprisonment. The teen's next court hearing is June 6.
Police continue to search for a fourth suspect, Jones, 20. He is currently on probation for second-degree burglary charges, obstructing a police officer and theft. Jones also has an active nationwide warrant for his arrest on another case.
