1 Dead In Early Morning Shooting In Aurora

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - One man was killed and another injured after a shooting early Friday morning in Aurora.

It happened at a house on South Espana Way and East Navarro Drive at approximately 7:20 a.m.

Officers rushed to the scene where they found a man inside a vehicle who had crashed into a tree. He suffered from a gunshot wound and was rushed to the hospital where he died a short time later.

A second man approached officers and said he also had been shot. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.

As a precaution police put an elementary school and middle school on security alert. The alert was later lifted. Police do not believe anyone else was involved. The victims have not been identified.
