2 National Parks In Colorado Found Victimized By Graffiti Vandal
ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. (CBS4) - Investigators now say two locations in Colorado have been targeted by someone vandalizing national parks.
Both Rocky Mountain National Park and the Colorado National Monument near Grand Junction have been hit.
Other areas also targeted are Yosemite National Park, Joshua Tree National Forest and Crater Lake in Oregon.
Investigators believe Casey Nocket, 21, is connected to a series of the colorful, eerie faces being painted on rocks in the parks. The vandalism was being documented under the Instagram account of "Creepytings," but has since been taken down.
The alleged art also appeared in the women's bathroom in Denver's Ginn Mill bar in lower downtown.
"I would liken this to if someone came to your home and created or spray painted on your garage door," Jeffrey Olson with the National Park Service said. "How people would react to that is how they're reacting to what's happening to these national parks."
If the suspect is charged she could face a $5,000 fine and a year in jail.
