A third suspect had already been charged in connection with the shooting. Nicholas Vandervoort was identified as a suspect by Denver police detectives and their investigation led to him being located in Louisiana. Vandervoort, 19, has been taken into custody and will face extradition back to Denver.

The charges allege that Rodriguez, 19, and Ellis, 20, accompanied Vandervoort to a meeting with Johnson, 26, and instead of paying him money that was owed, they shot and killed him.

Rodriguez and Ellis were arrested over the weekend and remain in custody without bond.
