AMBER Alert canceled: 2-month-old found safe, parents arrested
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has canceled an AMBER Alert after missing and endangered two-month-old Elsy Ardolino was located. Her parents were arrested by Denver police officers.
When the AMBER Alert was first issued on Wednesday, Elsy had been last seen in the 1000 block of W Gallinas Drive in Pueblo West on Tuesday about 6 p.m.
Elsy was taken by her parents, Ashley Ardolino, 39, and Luis Novelo-Rojas, 35, after an argument with the baby's grandmother in Pueblo West on Tuesday night.
Denver police confirm that Novelo-Rojas was arrested on Wednesday night after Denver police tracked what they believed to be a stolen vehicle in the area of East Colfax Avenue and North Unita Street. Officers attempted a traffic stop but the driver sped away and was finally stopped in the 6700 block of Fenton Street in Arvada. That's when Novelo-Rojas was apprehended and booked into the Denver County Jail.
Novelo-Rojas is facing several charges including obstructing a peace officer and driving after revocation- prohibited and an investigative hold for motor vehicle theft and vehicular eluding.
Update 2: Suspect later identified as Luis Novelo-Rojas, a suspect in the @PuebloCountySO Amber Alert. 2nd suspect, Ashley Ardolino, was arrested today in a separate incident. @DenverPolice took both into custody. Ardolino was arrested on Thursday morning at Motel 6 in the Central Park area of Denver in a separate incident. That's when the baby was located in a motel room and then taken to the hospital where she was deemed to be in good health.
