2 Killed In Glider Crash

TELLURIDE, Colo. (CBS4)- Two people were killed in a motorized glider crash near Telluride on Wednesday.

The aircraft, a Stemme S10-VT Glider, crashed under unknown circumstances five miles southeast of Telluride, killing 64-year-old Robert Saunders and another Colorado man whose name has not been released.

Saunders, known in the area as "Glider Bob," owned and operated "Glide Telluride," which offers year-round glider rides out of Telluride Regional Airport. According to his website, Saunders has been flying Stemme Motorgliders since 1997.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
