DENVER (CBS4) - Two people have been hospitalized after someone fired into a crowd outside a Denver nightclub early Sunday and Denver police and a security guard returned fire. One man was in critical condition.

A police officer and a security guard shot the gunman after he allegedly fired shots into a crowd.

"The officer then began giving verbal commands to the party, 'Drop the weapon, get down on the ground.' Those verbal commands were not complied with. The officer then drew his weapon and fired toward the suspect," said Denver Police Cmdr. Ron Saunier.
