The coroner also determined the cause of death for the brothers was drowning and was an accident.

The 911 call was made just before 12:30 p.m. Sunday and a massive amount of rescue crews responded, including those from the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, Boulder Dive Team, Longmont Emergency Unit, Pinewood Fire Department, Big Elk Fire Department, Estes Park Fire Department, Estes Park Dive Team, and Estes Park Ambulance Service.

Unfortunately when the boys were found they could not be revived.

Residents say three seasons out of the year it's possible to step over the river, but it's currently running high and cold. It is believed the boys were playing by the river just beyond a members-only picnic park.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family.
