2-Alarm Wildfire Threatens Homes
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- A two-alarm wildfire threatened homes in Aurora on Friday afternoon. It was 100 percent contained by 5:20 p.m.
Copter4 flew over the fire that was putting out a large volume of smoke in the 10300 block of East Inspiration Drive. No structures burned but the fire did grow close to some homes.
A resident burning leaves or trash ignited the fire. According to South Metro Fire Rescue, charges are not expected.
Several agencies assisted with the fires including Aurora Fire Rescue, South Metro Fire Rescue and Douglas County.
A helicopter made water drops on the fire.
The fire burned about 30 acres.
