2 African Lions Find Better Life In Colorado
KEENESBURG, Colo. (CBS4)- Two female African lions are enjoying a better life thanks to the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg. Jonwah and Njjara had been living at a roadside zoo in Iowa.
Visitors to the zoo noticed they were in poor health and a judge ordered a qualified veterinarian to step in.
The lions are recovering at the sanctuary's indoor enclosure.

"Right now they're going under intense medical treatment to get everything taken care of and then the whole goal is to eventually have them rehabilitated and join the lions that already live in the sanctuary and live in big prides in large acreage habitats," said Wild Animal Sanctuary Executive Director Pat Craig.
Craig said one of the lions was just days away from death before she was rescued.
