17-Year-Old Charged With Murder After 18-Year-Old Found Dead

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - The Englewood Police Department is investigating a 17-year-old for homicide after an 18-year-old male was found shot to death Saturday night.

Officers responded to the 3300 block of South Santa Fe at 9:45 p.m. on an initial call of shots fired.

The 18-year-old male victim was found deceased at the scene, inside a vehicle in a parking lot of a mobile home area, shot at least once.

During the investigation, police determined a 17-year-old male had shot the victim. The suspect was taken into custody Sunday morning and is being charged with second degree murder, meaning it did not have the planning that first degree does.

The suspect is a juvenile and therefore his identity will not be released.

The identity of the victim will come from the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office.
