10-Year-Old Dog To Be Reunited With Original Owner 9 Years Later

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - A 10-year-old boxer mix will soon be reunited with its owner in Colorado after being lost for nine years.

Boozer ran away nine years ago. Someone else had cared for the dog until it wound up recently at the Foothills Animal Shelter. A microchip led the shelter to the rightful owner in Tennessee.

"This scenario is not uncommon, but the shelter likes to double-check past owners are not currently looking for their once-owned pet," Jennifer Strickland with the Foothills Animal Shelter said in a statement.

The original owner kept an album of photos of his beloved dog, Boozer. Now the owner and his two children, who now live in Alabama, will drive back to Colorado to pick up Boozer.
