1 Struck, Killed By Light Rail Train In Restricted Area

DENVER (CBS4) – A person was killed after getting hit by a light rail train inside a restricted area just after noon Tuesday.

The incident happened on the light rail tracks near Colorado Boulevard just south of Interstate 25.

Ron Hackett with Denver police said the trains in the area had to be shut down for the investigation. The Regional Transportation District said buses were in place to transport riders between the University and Yale Stations.

The trains started running once again later in the afternoon.

The name of the person who was killed hasn't been released.
