1 Dead After Microburst Hits Southeast Colorado

LA JUNTA, Colo. (CBS4) - Severe thunderstorms produced a microburst Sunday night in southeast Colorado that had wind gusts in excess of 70 mph.

Some of the strongest winds hit five miles northeast of La Junta in Otero County, lifting a mobile home into the air and destroying it, killing the occupant.

The National Weather Service said a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the area at 8:25 p.m. and the fatality occurred around 8:37 pm.
