A 12-Year-Old Boy From Chicago Dies Of COVID-19, Youngest Known Fatality In Cook County

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 12-year-old Chicago boy has died as a result of a COVID-19 infection, the youngest known death from the disease in Cook County, officials said Thursday.

Ernesto Guzman died Thursday after being treated at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. The medical examiner said asthma, obstructive sleep apnea and Charcot-Marie Tooth Disorder, which causes nerve damage to arms and legs, were contributing factors.
