Yellow Line Service Resumes After Derailment

CHICAGO (STMW) -- CTA Yellow Line train service was temporarily suspended Thursday night after a train derailed in north suburban Skokie.

A southbound Yellow Line train derailed near the Dempster-Skokie station about 9:30 p.m., according to CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski. By early Friday, service was restored and delays were not expected for the morning commute.

Two CTA employees who were on the train at the time requested medical attention for minor injuries, Hosinski said. There were no customers on board.
