Work Crews Discover Dead Body In River

(CBS) – A dead body was discovered in the Des Plaines River Friday as work clews cleaned debris along a bridge, Illinois State Police said.

The body was discovered around 1 p.m. near Washington Street and First Avenue.

Divers from area fire departments were still working to remove the body by late afternoon, state police said in a news release.

A death investigation was underway.
