Women Charged With Stealing Packages At Wheaton Apartment Complex

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two women have been charged with stealing packages from a west suburban Wheaton apartment complex earlier this month.

Shannon K. Madera and Erin L. Fessler, both 41, were arrested Nov. 8 in connection with multiple packages reported missing from a secured mail area of the Wheaton Center apartment complex in the 0-100 block of Wheaton Center, according to a statement from Wheaton police.

Fessler, who lives in the same block, was charged with three counts of burglary, police said. Madera, of the 1600 block of Fredericksburg Lane in Aurora, was charged with a single count of burglary.

Both women were taken to the DuPage County Jail and later released on bond, police said.

Wheaton Center residents who have experienced a package loss but haven't yet reported it can call the Wheaton Police Department's Investigative Division at (630) 260-2055 for more information.
