Woman Struck And Killed In Bartlett

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A woman was killed Monday morning, when she was struck by a car in west suburban Bartlett.

Police said the woman was walking on Lake Street around 5:30 a.m., when a car heading east struck her just east of Lambert Lane.

Authorities have not said if the woman was crossing the street, or was walking along Lake Street.

Police shut down Lake Street in both directions for more than five hours as they were investigating the crash.

The driver stayed at the scene after hitting the woman. Police have not said if the driver will face any citations or criminal charges.

The victim's name and age have not yet been released.
