Woman Stabbed, Critically Wounded In Hyde Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A woman was stabbed and critically wounded Monday morning during a domestic-related incident in the Hyde Park neighborhood on the South Side.

About 6:10 a.m., the 34-year-old woman got into an argument with a 39-year-old man in the 5000 block of South Lake Shore Drive when the man stabbed her in the neck, according to Chicago Police.

She was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

The man suffered lacerations to his hand in the incident and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.

As of Tuesday morning, he has been taken into custody and charges against him were pending.
