Chicago man charged shooting death of woman in domestic disturbance at South Side Chicago business

CHICAGO (CBS) --  A Chicago man was charged after he shot and killed a 33-year-old woman at a business in the Back of the Yards neighborhood Monday afternoon. 

Louie Foster, 32, was placed into custody less than 15 minutes after the shooting, in the 1600 block of West 49th Street. He was charged with first-degree murder, murder with a strong probability of death or injury, and armed habitual criminal. 

At 3:33 p.m., officers were called to the EZPAWN pawn shop, in the 4800 block of South Ashland Avenue, for a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, the offender fired shots at a 33-year-old woman - striking her in the head and chest, police said.

The woman was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she died. Officers quickly placed Foster into custody. 

He is scheduled to appear at a detention hearing on Thursday.
