Woman Shot In Head While Driving In Gary

(STMW) -- A woman was shot in the head while driving in Gary, Ind., Saturday evening.

About 7:20 p.m., she called officers from the intersection of 25th Avenue and Taft Street, according to Gary police.

Someone fired a shot that went through the rear driver-side window and headrest before striking her head, police said.

She was conscious and speaking when she was taken to a hospital but her condition was unknown, police said.
