Woman Seriously Wounded In Auburn-Gresham Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A woman was shot and seriously wounded Wednesday night in the Auburn-Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

The woman, thought to be in her 40s, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the back about 10:15 p.m. in the 8800 block of South May Street, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer, citing preliminary information.

The woman was taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Greer said.

Area South detectives are investigating.
