Woman Left Baby In Hot Vehicle In Northbrook, Police Say

(STMW) -- A woman has been charged after she left her 13-month-old child in her vehicle while shopping Sunday in north suburban Northbrook.

Allyson Poll, 40, went into a store in the 2700 block of Dundee Road for about 45 minutes Sunday and accidentally left the baby in her closed vehicle, according to Northbrook police.

When she returned to her vehicle, she heard the child crying, realized she had left the child inside and call 911, police said. The baby was not hospitalized.

The temperature reached 93 degrees at O'Hare on Sunday, according to National Weather Service records.

Poll, of Highland Park, was charged with endangering the life of a child, police said. She was released on a $1,500 bond.
