Woman Killed In West Garfield Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Area North detectives were conducting a homicide investigation early Tuesday after a woman was killed in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side, police said.

About 2:30 a.m., the 49-year-old woman was found unresponsive inside a third-floor apartment in the 4300 block of West Flournoy Street, police said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, but the cause of her death was not immediately known, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not confirm the fatality.

A person of interest is being questioned in connection with the homicide, which may be domestic in nature, police said.
