Woman Killed In Kennedy Expressway Crash

(STMW) -- Alcohol likely played a role in a fatal crash Friday night on the Kennedy Expressway (I-90) on the Northwest Side, police said.

Diane Adreani, 53, was driving southbound on I-90 when her vehicle crashed into the wall about 9:30 p.m. near Austin Avenue, authorities said.

Adreani, of the 7600 block of West Ardmore Avenue, was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 12:13 a.m. Saturday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

She was not wearing her seatbelt and she was the only occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash, Illinois State Police Sgt. Henry Spight said. No one else was injured in the crash.

Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash, Spight said.
