Woman Injured In Fire At Lincolnwood Retirement Home

LINCOLNWOOD, Ill. (STMW) -- One woman was injured Wednesday night after a fire broke out at a retirement home in north suburban Lincolnwood.

Firefighters responded to the blaze about 7:30 p.m. at Lincolnwood Place, a six-story retirement home at 7000 N. McCormick Blvd., according to the Lincolnwood Fire Department.

One woman, whose age was not immediately known, was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, fire officials said.

The fire started in a unit on the fourth floor, but was contained to that unit and extinguished within 30 minutes, firefighters said.

Fire officials are investigating the cause of the blaze.
