Woman Shot On Bishop Ford Expressway, Second On I-94 This Week

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 28-year-old woman was hospitalized after a shooting Wednesday afternoon on the Bishop Ford Freeway.

According to Illinois State Police, the woman was driving south on I-94 between 103rd and 111th streets around 3:20 Wednesday afternoon, when someone in another vehicle fired shots, striking her car.

Police said the victim pulled off of the expressway and drove to a nearby Chicago Police station. She later was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It was the second shooting on the Bishop Ford in three days.

On Monday night, a man was shot while driving on the Bishop Ford near 120th Street.

Illinois State Police said the driver was shot in the leg around 10:18 p.m., in between 115th and 130th streets, and drove himself to Roseland Hospital.
