Woman Injured After Jumping Out Of Window During Suspicious South Side Fire

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A woman was hurt when she jumped out of a window during a fire Sunday morning in the South Chicago neighborhood.

The two-alarm fire was reported at a home in the 8700 block of South Commercial Avenue about 5 a.m. before it moved to two other buildings on the same block, according to Fire Media Affairs.

A 23-year-old woman was hurt when she jumped out of a window to escape the fire, according to Fire Media. She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in good condition.

The fire was extinguished at 6:07 a.m., though companies will remain on the scene, according to Fire Media.

The fire is thought to be suspicious, according to Fire Media. The Bomb and Arson Unit is investigating.
