Woman Found Dead In Waukegan Forest Preserve

WAUKEGAN, Ill. (STMW) -- The body of a 52-year-old Waukegan woman was found in the Lyons Woods Forest Preserve on the northeast side of Waukegan this past Wednesday, and authorities are waiting for toxicology tests to determine the cause of death.

The body was discovered by Lake County Forest Preserve Ranger Police, with the Major Crimes Task Force were called in as a precaution, said George Filenko, task force commander.

The ranger police were not immediately available. Filenko said the task force is waiting for the cause of death from the Lake County Coroner's Office to wrap up the investigation. He said any further comment would come that office or the ranger police.
