Woman Found Dead After Spring Grove Crash

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A woman was found dead Sunday morning after a single-vehicle crash that also left the driver injured in northwest suburban Spring Grove.

Tanya M. McDonough, 33, was discovered by a passerby about 6 a.m. after the crash on Route 12 east of Sunset Road, according to a statement from the McHenry County coroner's office.

McDonough, of unincorporated Spring Grove, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:34 a.m., the coroner's office said. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was taken to the hospital, but additional details on the nature of his injuries or his condition were not immediately available.

The Major Crash Assistance Team was investigating the crash.
