Woman Fails In Attempt To Rob Aurora Bank

(STMW) -- A woman wearing a piece of tape over her nose tried to rob a west suburban bank Saturday morning, but left empty-handed.

The suspect walked into the BMO Harris branch at 2500 N. Farnsworth in Aurora at 10:42 a.m. and gave the teller a note demanding money, according to Aurora city spokesman Dan Ferrelli.

The teller went to the bank's back room to summon a manager, and the suspect picked up the note, left the bank and walked away eastbound, Ferrelli said.

She is described as a black woman in her late 20s to early 30s, 5-foot-3 and 200 pounds wearing a pink sundress and black jacket. She also had a piece of white tape across her nose.

Anyone with information should call the FBI at (312) 421-6700.
