Woman Dies In Custody At West Side Police Station

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A Humboldt Park woman died in the Harrison District Chicago Police Station Thursday morning while she was being held there after an arrest.

An officer found the 34-year-old arrestee unresponsive in a cell at the police station at 3151 W. Harrison St. about 8:10 a.m., police said. It was not immediately clear why she had been arrested.

Nicole Blair, of the 1100 block of North Lawndale Avenue, was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:11 a.m., the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday to determine the cause and manner of her death, the medical examiner's office said.
