Woman Critically Hurt In NW Side Hit-And-Run

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A woman was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday evening in the Belmont Heights neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The woman, 55, was crossing the street about 6:25 p.m. in the 3400 block of North Harlem Avenue when she was hit by a gold four-door car, police said.

She was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge in critical condition, police said.

No suspects were in custody as of early Wednesday, police said. The Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating the crash.
