Woman Crashes SUV Into Palos Heights 7-Eleven

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. (STMW) -- A woman drove her SUV through a 7-Eleven convenience store Wednesday night in southwest suburban Palos Heights.

Police responded to the call about 8:30 p.m. at 7-Eleven, 11900 S. Harlem Ave., after the woman's vehicle accelerated into the store, according to Palos Heights Police Sgt. Jeff Crowley. There was one employee and a customer inside the store at the time of the incident, but no injuries were reported, Crowley said.

Alcohol is not thought to be a factor, Crowley added.

"There's a lot of foot traffic in that area. There's an ice cream shop and quite a few people were out," Crowley said. "Luckily, no one was hurt."

The store was still closed early Thursday.
