Woman Charged With Lying About Baby Being In Stolen Car

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A woman was arrested after she lied to police about her baby being inside her car when it was stolen Tuesday morning in the South Side Calumet Heights neighborhood.

Ebonee Bryant, 34, faces one misdemeanor count of filing a false police report, according to Chicago Police.

Bryant reported about 8:45 a.m. that her car had been stolen from the 8900 block of South Yates with a child inside, according to police. When officers recovered the car downtown minutes later after a chase, there was no child inside.

Bryant, of the 12700 block of South Peoria, is next scheduled to appear in court Jan. 26.
