Woman Charged With Fatal Stabbing In West Pullman

(STMW) -- A 38-year-old woman has been accused of fatally stabbing a west suburban man Saturday night in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side.

Vanessa Sanders faces first-degree murder charges for the 11:10 p.m. attack in the 11500 block of South Perry, Chicago Police announced Tuesday.

Antone L. Sims, 28, was arguing with Sanders in a first-floor apartment when she stabbed him in the chest with a knife and then fled the scene, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Sims, of the 100 block of West Devoe Drive in Oswego, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 12:17 a.m., authorities said.

Sanders, of the 5000 block of South Winchester, is due in bond court Wednesday.
