Woman, 76, Dead After Tinley Park Fire

TINLEY PARK, Ill. (STMW) -- A 76-year-old woman died Friday night after a fire in southwest suburban Tinley Park.

Crews were dispatched to heavy fire at a single family home in the 17300 block of Oketo Avenue at 8:22 p.m. and found the woman who was the homeowner, inside, authorities said.

Patricia Clausen, 76, was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, where she was pronounced dead at 9:01 p.m., according to the Will County Coroner's office.

The fire was extinguished in about 15 or 20 minutes, Tinley Park Fire Chief Ken Dunn said.

Nobody else was in the house at the time of the fire, and no other injuries were reported, Dunn said.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation Saturday morning.
