Wind Chill Advisory Remains In Effect Until Monday Morning

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect for some of the Chicago area until 10 a.m. Monday.

The National Weather Service in Chicago issued a Windy Chill Advisory for Boone, Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, LaSalle, Lake, Lee, McHenry, Ogle, Will and Winnebago counties from 6 a.m. Sunday morning until 10 a.m. Monday morning.

Wind chills at times can reach anywhere between 20 and 30 below zero.

There is a potential for frostbite and hypothermia due to the bitterly cold wind chills.

A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in frostbite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If you must venture outside, make sure you dress properly, the National Weather Service warns.
