Will New Digital System For Illinois Lottery Be Trustworthy?
(CBS) -- The end of an era: For the final time, a living breathing person pulled the numbers for the Illinois Lottery.

On its website under the headline "something exciting," the Illinois Lottery explains the digital draw system will use a random number generator.
The lottery says it's "highly secure" and it will "fully leverage available technology."
Dr. Patricia Jones Blessman, a clinical psychologist, said drawings done by a computer raises the specter it could be hacked.
"I think you open yourself up to conspiracy theories," Dr. Blessman said. "I think they're opening themselves up to a lot of distrust."
The bottom line, the lottery did mention its increased operating costs, and of course it's being sued by recent big winners for refusal to pay amid the state budget stalemate.
