White Sox Trim Spring Roster To 51 Players

(CBS) The White Sox have trimmed their spring training roster to 51 players by making 13 roster moves Wednesday.

Chicago optioned infielders Matt Davidson and Tyler Saladino; outfielder Trayce Thompson; and catchers Adrian Nieto and Devan Smith to Triple-A Charlotte.

The team optioned right-handed pitchers Raul Fernandez and Michael Ynoa to Double-A Birmingham.

The White Sox also reassigned infielders Dan Black, Tim Anderson and Andy LaRoche; outfielder Jared Mitchell; and right-handers Tyler Danish and J.D. Martin to minor league camp.

Chicago has 51 players left on its spring roster -- 30 pitchers, four catchers, 11 infielders and six outfielders.
