White Sox Sign Former 1st-Round Pick Brian Anderson To Minor League Deal

(CBS) Brian Anderson has one last chance to prove himself.

Originally drafted by the White Sox with the 15th pick in the 2003 amateur draft, the 32-year-old Anderson will try to make a comeback after agreeing to a minor league contract with Chicago. He last played in 2012 in the Independent League.

Anderson will come to camp as an outfielder, the position he started his major league career at. He played in the majors from 2005-'09, hitting .227 with 22 homers. After that, he switched positions, becoming a pitcher. Anderson toiled in the minors for several seasons, never getting to the majors as a pitcher.

Anderson didn't receive a spring training invite, 670 The Score's Bruce Levine reported.
