White Sox Send Down Jordan Danks As Gillaspie Returns From DL

(CBS) The White Sox has reinstated third baseman Conor Gillaspie from the 15-day disabled list and optioned outfielder Jordan Danks to Triple-A Charlotte, the team announced this afternoon.

Gillaspie had been on the DL for the past couple weeks with a left hand contusion. Gillaspie is batting .302 with 12 RBIs and eight runs in 16 games this season.

Danks was batting .098 (4-for-41) with a homer and five RBIs in 21 games for Chicago since being called up on April 10.

The move is interesting in that it leaves the White Sox with just three regular outfielders at this point -- Alejandro De Aza, Dayan Viciedo and Moises Sierra. Regular designated hitter or infielder Leury Garcia will likely have to be relied upon as a fourth outfielder if one's needed.
