White Sox Place RHP Miguel Gonzalez On DL With Groin Strain

(CBS) The White Sox have placed right-hander Miguel Gonzalez on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right groin, they announced Friday morning.

In a corresponding move, Chicago called up right-hander Chris Beck from Triple-A Charlotte. The 26-year-old Beck has a 8.10 ERA (six runs in 6 2/3 innings) with the White Sox this season. He had a 4.21 ERA in 22 appearances, including seven starts, at Triple-A.

Gonzalez suffered the injury in Thursday evening's loss at Kansas City, leaving the game with no outs in the bottom of the second inning. He's 2-6 with a 4.05 ERA this season.
