White Sox Option OF J.B. Shuck To Triple-A

(CBS) The White Sox optioned outfielder J.B. Shuck to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday, they announced. The move paves the way for the newly acquired Charlie Tilson to start in center fielder for the final two months of the season.

Chicago nabbed Tilson is a trade with St. Louis on Sunday that sent lefty reliever Zach Duke back to the Cardinals. Tilson will join the White Sox for Tuesday's road game against the Tigers.

Shuck is hitting .218 with three homers, 13 RBIs and 16 runs in 53 games for the White Sox this season. He had started 31 of the past 33 games for Chicago.

The demotion of Shuck was announced shortly after the trade deadline passed Monday afternoon with the White Sox not making any moves.
