White Sox Make Moves To Fill Out 40-Man Roster

(CBS) The White Sox made a series of moves Friday to fill out their 40-man roster.

Chicago purchased the contracts of outfielder Adam Engel, right-hander Brad Goldberg and outfielder Jacob May from Triple-A Charlotte. The White Sox also outrighted right-hander Brandon Brennan to Charlotte.

The 24-year-old Engel hit .259 with seven homers, 46 RBIs and 45 stolen bases in 129 games split between Class-A, Double-A and Triple-A in 2016.

The 26-year-old Goldberg was 3-5 with a 2.70 ERA in 47 appearances in Double-A and Triple-A this past season. He was an International League midseason All-Star and recorded 10 saves.

The 24-year-old May hit .266 with one homer and 19 stolen bases in 83 games at Triple-A in an injury-plagued 2016 season.
