White Sox Go For World Record Tuesday -- Most Dogs Attending A Sporting Event
(CBS) The White Sox will attempt to set a world record Tuesday evening, and no, it doesn't have anything to do with what's happening on the field of play.
The White Sox will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the most dogs attending a sporting event when they host the Indians at U.S. Cellular Field. The team didn't announce what the world record mark currently is, but the White Sox will nab the title if 1,000 dogs are present, they said. The people and dogs need to be seated by start of the top of the third inning, when they'll attempt to set the record.
The White Sox are averaging 22,684 fans per game this season, per ESPN.com.
In 1996, the White Sox were the first big league organization to create a dog-friendly day at the park.
